Food or Ayurveda Diet

Food or Ayurveda Diet. Ayurveda means 'science or knowledge of life', a term inherited from the ancient Vedic rishis, who were men and women who achieved self-knowledge several thousand years ago through meditation and other practices aimed at integrating the individual nature. The ayurvedic nutrition method, originally from India, could help people to eat more consciously and healthily. Ayurveda nutrition takes its base from the five natural elements: earth, water, fire, air and ether. These are related to six flavors present in food: sweet, salty, bitter, spicy, astringent and acid. It prefers food not manipulated by man. You must consume sattvic foods, that is, those that are not manipulated, that are in their purest state. Ghee, mung bean, basmati rice and almonds are examples of sattvic foods. A good start would be to change the traditional rice for basmati rice, since the latter is long grain, the best quality in the world. It is tonic, nutritious, very aromatic and does not contain gluten. Eliminate food that does not provide nutrients from your diet. We must remove from our diet those tamasic foods or without nutrients, such as junk food, excess salt and processed sugars such as pastry, packaged as chips, soft drinks, coffee, pickles and sausages such as Viennese, etc. These foods make us sick and unbalance our organs. In general, cooking times should be well controlled, vegetables should be cooked al dente or steamed and not anneal or reheat food, as they lose their nutrients. The cooking methods will depend on the biotype or Dosha: Vata, Pitta or Kapha. For example, the Vata should cook pots, stews and hot soups, which will keep them more hydrated and will remove the permanent cold they feel in their hands and feet. On the contrary, the Pittas need to eat more salads, green vegetables and plenty of water, which will calm their permanent heat in the body. Kapha should cook in the oven, rather dehydrated foods and seeds, which will remove the excess water they retain in their body. They should also prefer spicy condiments, which will lead them to reduce tissue and sweating. Eat in a proportionate way According to Ayurveda, the correct proportion to eat is 2/4 solid, 1/4 liquid and 1/4 empty. The 6 flavors that should be eaten at least once a day are: sweet, sour or acidic, salty, pungent, astringent and bitter. Each Dosha / biotype should prioritize three flavors and avoid three others to find their balance. In the sweet taste are dairy products, cereals and sweet fruits. In acids, there are tomato, lemon and acid fruits. In the bitter one is the chicory, endives and aloe vera. In the spicy, chili, onion, garlic and ginger, and in the astringent are green vegetables such as celery, chard, artichoke and asparagus. Food or Alkaline Diet. The alkaline diet is based on the belief that certain foods can affect the acidity and pH of body fluids, including urine or blood, and therefore can be used to treat and prevent diseases. Some diets, such as the paleo diet, well known among high performance athletes, is based in some aspects on the theory of the alkaline diet, although in this diet animal and vegetable protein is consumed and in the alkaline, only vegetable protein. As we can see in the brief descriptions of each type of diet or food, all have as their main objective, to keep the body healthy and free of processed foods that harm the organism, promote the consumption of natural and organic foods, as well as understand that It does us good by type of organism and lifestyles. Bambuddha Holistíc Center is a place that promotes different types of healthy eating through its daily food menu, within their group retreats, as well as designing specific detoxification programs for those who seek to cleanse the body in a more profound way.
